Macron exploring UN peacekeepers

The “coalition of the willing” plan is not going to work.

This should be clear now to all – if it wasn’t several weeks ago.

And I think Starmer’s proposed no-fly zone is equally unlikely to succeed. No.10 would be smarter to reacquaint itself with the Open Skies Treaty. A primer for anyone who wants it here: http://artofthedeal.org/ukraine/open-skies

This would achieve the aim better than a military option, be vastly cheaper, less prone to accident, engender more support from the Baltic states – and Russia actually welcomes it!

We’ll see if the government comes to realise that there’s a better way.

I think my tiny team and I will be proven correct:

UN peacekeepers > European troops

(Or at least the only diplomatically-feasible option.)
