An MIT physics professor’s little-known finding that could help a new US administration refresh relations with Russia…
Professor Theodore A. Postol is something of a legendary figure who, throughout his career, has discovered all kinds of classified projects that countries have been trying to hide. (And thus, often has been a thorn in the Pentagon’s side.)
Editing the following piece with Ted has been both a joy and an honour. Ted has picked up on something nobody in the mainstream is talking about. Did you know Russian leadership has one third to one quarter the warning-time (from a surprise attack) of the US?
The piece covers what led to Ted’s discovery at MIT, and the implications. (Researching this the past several weeks, I’ve felt Prof. Postol is not far from a real-life – nuclear weapons – equivalent of the professor played by Leonardo DiCaprio in Don’t Look Up. He has an earth-shattering revelation, which has been near-universally ignored.)
The piece includes the strongest rebuttals we could get (from the very eminent Dr. Pavel Podvig – a former student of Ted’s – as well as national security analyst Jake Mezey) – arguably the best part of the whole piece. And I think my favourite bit of cover art we’ve done to date, to boot.
The issue of Russia’s satellite early-warning system is something I’ve not heard anyone (other than Ted) bring up in regards to Ukraine/Russia. The US has to recognise its enormous technological lead here, and be thoughtful about it.
